Geothermal has been around for 60 to 70 years, and Black-Haak has been installing Geothermal Systems for over 15 years. A Geothermal System is the transfer of energy from the earth into your home, using no gas, fossil fuels, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide or electricity (only to run the compressor). Geothermal heating/cooling is a refrigeration based process. To heat your home, heat is brought from the earth into your home. To cool your home, the refrigeration process is reversed, therefore taking the heat from your home and pushing it back to the earth. There is no need for a backup furnace because with Geothermal heating/cooling, you get 100% heating/cooling. These systems can be installed in any home, whether you live in the country or city. Geothermal heating/cooling is “green”, so you can feel good about installing a system and still save money. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act allows for a 30% tax credit for a qualifying Geothermal System installed through 2016.
